The frame is 3/16 of an inch longer and it has a low wide hammer. This reduces travel and minimizes disturbance of the hand placement. It quickly became the favorite sport shooting pistol of its time, but for the next two decades it was also a favorite of cowboys and adventures in the American southwest and northern Mexico. Revolutionary General Pancho Villa carried a Bisley as did the Canadian train robber Bill Miner. It features two piece walnut grips and a sturdy easy to use bladed front sight.
