When it comes to nostalgic firearms and their historical significance, Cimarron Firearms makes some of the truest and best available. The Colt 1896 Special Target Model made such a name for itself at England's iconic Bisley Common shooting range that they changed the name of this historic pistol. Thus, the Bisley Model was born! This is a Peacemaker turned target pistol. Changes include an enlarged trigger guard and a radically curved grip to provide minimal shift and better control for more consistent shot placement. The frame is 3/16 of an inch longer and it has a low, wide hammer. This reduces travel and minimizes disturbance of the hand placement.
It quickly became the favorite sport-shooting pistol of its time, but for the next two decades, it was also a favorite of cowboys and adventures in the American southwest and northern Mexico. Revolutionary General Pancho Villa carried a Bisley, as did the Canadian train robber Bill Miner. It features two-piece walnut grips and a sturdy, easy-to-use bladed front sight. The Cimarron Bisley is ready for cowboy-action shooting competitions or just some good ol' target-shooting fun. Regardless of why you need one or maybe you just want one, the Cimarron Firearms Bisley Model is an excellent addition to your collection. Get your cowboy-action fix with Cimarron.
